Following The Seattle Times' recent Sunday A1 story about gritty, vibrant, changing Georgetown, the features desk will host a neighborhood arts walk for subscribers.

On Saturday Dec. 7, arts economy reporter Margo Vansynghel will lead a group tour through Georgetown, visiting the arts spaces from the story and speaking with the artists who have made a home there. These artists have increasingly become community leaders as they try to reject the typical gentrification narrative — that is, instead of being priced out by development, Georgetown artists are taking charge of their own destiny, helping the neighborhood grow and change for the better without losing its artsy roots.
